Rebel Wilson is putting the money she received in her defamation case for a good cause!
As many know, Rebel went after Bauer Media Group, who reportedly said she publicly lied about her age, real name in upbring in a total of eight articles in Woman’s Day, Women’s Weekly, OK Magazine and New Weekly in 2015. During a three-week trial at the Supreme Court of Victoria in Melbourne, Australia, Rebel stated that the articles hurt her career and reputation, costing her film roles.
The publisher’s lawyers put up a fight, but Rebel won the case! “I’m glad, very glad, that the jury has agreed with me and by the unanimous overwhelming verdict, they have sent a very, very clear message,” she said in an interview. “I really love my job as an actress and an entertainer and now I just look forward to rebuilding my career now that the record has been set straight.”
Though no clear amount has been determined, Rebel originally requested 5.5 million pounds (close to $7 million). No matter how much money Rebel actually gets though, she’s promised that it’s not going to her pockets.

It’s awesome that Rebel is planning to put this money to good use! If she gets even a bit of what she asked for, she can really have a positive impact on others.
