Leona Lewis has been named the new celebrity ambassador for MTV‘s Staying Alive Foundation!
Staying Alive is an HIV prevention charity that works with different HIV awareness and prevention programs globally to educate people about the disease. Leona will serve as the spokesperson and face of the organization, helping to not only increase awareness but to also raise money for Staying Alive. She’ll also perform at the foundation’s annual fundraising gala.
“It is a great honor to be working with MTV’s Staying Alive Foundation as an ambassador. I’m eager to raise awareness of the ongoing global HIV crisis,” the singer said of her new role. “By empowering young people with knowledge about the disease – particularly women and girls who are disproportionately affected – we can help treat it and ultimately prevent it altogether.”
In addition to that, Leona is collaborating with natural beauty brand Kiehl’s on designing a new limited edition product to raise even more for funds for Staying Alive. For the past two years, Kiehl’s has come out with two limited edition facial creams with designs by MTV Staying Alive Ambassadors, Tinie Tempah and Laura Mvula. The brand also held events in stores across the UK to raise money for the charity!
It’s wonderful that Leona is using her star power to make a difference, especially when it comes to HIV awareness!
