Last week, NBA player Chris Paul hosted an awesome bowling invitational to benefit kids!
The Clippers point guard brought together big name celebs and athletes like DJ Khaled and Terrell Owens for a night of bowling at Lucky Strike LA Live on Jan. 17. The event was to raise awareness and funds for Chris Paul’s Family Foundation, which supports education, literacy and technology enrichment, and wellness initiatives for youth.
“Everything that we do is usually trying to impact the youth,” Chris said. “Show them that people care about them, give them some type of hope.” He also stated that it’s more important to give of your time and energy, and not just money. “One always thinks it’s all about the monetary value that you give but that isn’t,” Chris added. “The most valuable thing that we all have is our time, so if you can just give your time and lend a helping hand to a cause or charity and be passionate about it, you can do a lot.”
Khaled was definitely excited to be a part, especially since this was for the kids. “I’m a father now, so these things even matter [to me] more than ever because we want to raise our children to also give back,” he said. “[We’re] in a situation where we can always help.” Check out Khaled on the lanes below!
The whole event was eventually won by Boston Red Sox outfielder, Mookie Betts. Mookie beat out defending champ Terrell and Denver Broncos running back CJ Anderson!
Overall, definitely a fun event for a great cause!
