Taylor Swift gave a World War II veteran the Christmas gift of a lifetime this year!
Taylor, along with her parents, flew out to New Madrid, Missouri to surprise 96-year-old Cyrus Porter and his family a day after Christmas. Cyrus himself is a huge fan of the pop star, who expressed his love for Taylor in a local interview with KFVS news, which went viral. “I’ve been to two concerts. Memphis and St Louis,” he revealed. “Look what she does…she puts on a show no one else puts on…I just liked the way she did stuff.”
During her visit, Taylor pulled out her guitar and sang her smash hit, “Shake It Off.” She also chatted with Cyrus and almost 60 relatives for over an hour.

“My Popo was ecstatic! He was grinning from ear to ear and even had tears in his eyes,” family member Caroline Fowler told E! News. “The first thing he said to her was ‘How did you get here?’ He loved every moment. He told her how he was proud of his family, his country and Taylor Swift!”
So great! Taylor is known for her charitable donations and visits, and it’s incredible that she continues to take time for her fans from the youngest to the oldest. This really made me smile!
