CatCon Collaborates with the Ian Somerhalder Foundation To Help Animals

Popular cat culture and pop culture conference CatCon is collaborating with the Ian Somerhalder Foundation for their 2017 event!

CatCon brings about feline lovers from all walks of life for different seminars and exhibitions, in an attempt to get as many felines adopted as possible. It’s perfect for the actor’s foundation to be a part of because he and his team work to educate and collaborate with others regarding our planet and its amazing creatures. The organization’s Emergency Medical Care Grant provides financial assistance for rescuers and shelters caring  for animals recovering from abuse, neglect, and injuries, including kitties!

It’s so much of a perfect fit, in fact, that CatCon has chosen ISF as its official charity beneficiary for the conference! What that means is that CatCon® will donate $2 of every ticket sold to ISF, as well as a portion of money raised by all Meet and Greets during the two-day festival.

“ISF is a wonderful addition to our growing CatCon family,” said creator Susan Michals. “Our event revolves around spreading joy and goodness to cats and the people who love them, and Mr. Somerhalder and his foundation embody  that message. We are thrilled to have them onboard.”

“I am beyond excited to have the Ian Somerhalder Foundation participating in CatCon 2017. As a proud cat person with three rescued cats, I share the kindred spirit we all feel when we get together with other animal lovers,” Ian said. “Participating in CatCon marries my love for cats with ISF’s initiatives to help all animals. This is a convention which breaks stigmas, celebrates animals, and gives back to cat welfare organizations. What could be better?”

The convention will be held on August 12-13, 2017 in Pasadena, CA, with tickets going on sale early next year. ISF team members will be at CatCon® to discuss what they’re all about, and Ian himself is coming through for a special appearance on that Sunday!

It’s really awesome that Ian has used his passion and love of animals to even create this foundation, and have a positive impact for those animals currently in shelters. Now, with ISF working with CatCon, more people will be able to learn about the organization and they’ll be able to help even more animals with the donations they receive!
