Matt McGorry has been a strong supporter of the Black Lives Matter movement, and took his support to the streets earlier this week with a special march!

The How to Get Away with Murder actor and a few of his friends organized a march with white people specifically supporting black lives and in honor of those black lives who died at the hands of police.

On October 17, the group took to the streets of LA wore bright yellow t-shirts that read “White People for Black Lives,” holding different signs and chanting slogans like “Black lives, they matter here.”  When Matt shared footage online from the march, many praised him and the other protesters for taking a powerful stand like this.

Check out some of the footage below!

Obviously, America has a long way to go but it’s important that white people understand how much this movement really matters. How much black lives really matter. It’s important that people get that “Black Lives Matter” doesn’t mean that they matter above all other lives. It matters that black people have been getting harassed, injured, and even killed at the hands of police and others, often times with no accountability behind held in these case. This march is in support of those black lives, and it was powerful to watch this group of white people who truly understand that to boldly proclaim it to the world.
