YouTube star and LGBTQ advocate Hannah Hart will be honored at the upcoming GLAAD Gala San Francisco!
Hannah will receive GLAAD’s Davidson/Valentini Award, which shines a light on LGBTQ media professionals who have “made a significant difference in promoting equality for the LGBT community.” She hosts a video series called “Coming Out,” which highlights some real conversations about issues affecting the LGBTQ community, as well as her own personal experiences being gay herself. Her YouTube channel currently has about 2.5 million subscribers!
“By using her powerful platform to elevate LGBTQ stories, Hannah Hart has proven to be a tireless advocate for self-love and acceptance,” GLAAD President and CEO Sarah Kate Ellis said in a statement. “Her messages of empowerment inspire countless LGBTQ youth and move hearts and minds across the world.”
The GLAAD Gala will be held on September 8, and is set to be hosted by actress/comedian Aisha Tyler!
