Kelly Rowland Partners with Claritin and Boys & Girls Clubs to Help Kids Spend More Time Outdoors

Kelly Rowland has partnered with Claritin and the Boys & Girls Clubs of America to help kids struggling with allergies enjoy the outdoors this spring!

According to PR Newswire, Kelly, who suffers from allergies as well, will work with the two organizations to fund the makeover outdoor spaces at Boys & Girls Clubs in three cities across the country.  The initiative is reaching kids with allergies, but also promotes kids getting up and heading outside to play!

“We are so honored to be working with Claritin and our long-time ambassador Kelly Rowland on this very meaningful program,” said Jim Clark, president and CEO of Boys & Girls Clubs of America. “Between class, our afterschool programs and technology, many of our members in urban areas spend much of their time indoors, and coming to one of our Clubs is their best opportunity to be active outdoors. Thanks to this impactful program with Claritin, more of our members will have fresh, new outdoor spaces to spend time.”

Though Kelly does understand staying inside during the spring season to decrease allergy systems, she also knows how important it is to get fresh air outdoors, relying on Claritin for her own allergies. “Spending time outdoors helps my family and me set aside everyday distractions and feel our best,” said Rowland. “I remember feeling as though I was trapped inside when the pollen count climbed. My worst symptoms were itchy, watery eyes and a runny nose, but now, I reach for Claritin when I have allergy symptoms. Everyone should be able to enjoy spending time outdoors, regardless of if they have seasonal allergies. That’s why I’m so proud that in my second year working with Claritin, the brand is teaming up with an organization I’ve been working with for years and is so close to my heart, Boys & Girls Clubs of America, so members can more fully enjoy their play time outdoors.”

This initiative is so great and truly necessary, as so many kids spend their times indoors watching TV or playing video games. Hopefully, this idea is able to spread to other Boys & Girls Clubs in the country and gets more kids outdoors!
