Katy Perry Gives Awesome Care Package to Burn Victim for the Holidays

More celebrities giving back to fans for the holidays! Katy Perry sent one of her fans, who recently survived a fire, an awesome care package for Christmas!

According to Us Weekly,  Katy sent burn victim Safyre Terry a nice, handwritten Christmas card and a package filled with gifts after the 8-year-old girl asked for a card from the singer. Sadly, Safrye lost her family members in an arson fire that also left her severely burned, losing a hand and a foot. “Safyre, I heard about your Christmas wish and and am so honored that you saved the top of the tree for me!” Katy wrote in her card. “I hope you have a wonderful Christmas and a great New Year. I’ll be thinking of you on Christmas Day. Special girl.” Katy included gifts like a cute hoodie with ears, a backpack, a DVD of Katy’s Prismatic tour, a DVD of her film Part of Me, an iPhone 6 case and a black kitty cat purse! Great gifts!

In addition to her card and gifts from Katy, Safyre has received over 500,000 cards and 10,000 packages from people around the country, including ones from Beyoncé and President Barack Obama. She even spent time with Angel Cascio, one of Michael Jackson‘s best friends and collaborative partners, playing Katy’s hit track, “Roar,” on the keyboard. “Safyre went back and forth between learning ‘Roar’ and opening gifts. She really is very interested in learning her favorite song from her favorite artist!” said photographer Ed Lauber, who took pictures of the sweet girl receiving her surprise.  The photographer also said to Us Weekly that Safyre’s family and supporters hope she will get to record her version of “Roar” with Angel and that Katy will hear it and hopefully visit her! That would be great!

It’s always heart warming to see celebs giving to their young fans, especially those who have been through such tragedy. Our continued thoughts and prayers go out to Safyre and her family! Hopefully, this incredible outreach from others has been comforting to them in their loss.
