Pink has been officially been named the newest UNICEF ambassador, pledging to fight again child hunger across the globe!
In an interview with Robin Roberts for Good Morning America, the singer discussed her new role, which she received after a trip to Haiti this summer. “I’ve always wanted to work with UNICEF,” Pink said. “It’s the one organization that has over the last 15 years just consistently been in my mind for all the amazing things that they do.” Her work in Haiti drew her to want to be involved with UNICEF even more, especially after seeing malnourished children there. “When you have a child of your own and you try to imagine looking at them and not being able to feed them it does something to you,” Pink, mother to 4-year-old daughter, Willow, admitted.
The pop star also opened up about UNICEF’s Kid Power, a bracelet that kids wear that allows them to go on missions and stay active to earn points, which ultimately unlock therapeutic food packets to feed malnourished children around the world. Pink and Robin danced around with a group of kids and Pink’s trainer to try and score as many points as possible during the broadcast.
It’s great that Pink is involved with UNICEF now! I definitely believe she’ll be doing great things with the organization in the future. Congrats to her on this new role!
