Michael Jackson’s Sunglasses to Be Auctioned for Charity

Omer Bhatti, a close friend of the late great Michael Jackson, is auctioning off the legend’s sunglasses for a charitable donation.

According to PR Newswire, Omer will be donating the proceeds from this auction to the Sunnaas Rehabilitation Hospital in Norway, which took great care of his mom when she was sick.  “When I was 15, my mom suffered from a serious stroke that turned our lives upside down,” Omer said. “Sunnaas Rehabilitation Hospital in Norway helped her get her life back, and by donating these glasses, I want to raise as much money as possible to support their amazing work.”

Omer moved to MJ’s famed estate, Neverland, with his parents when he was a child, and worked and toured with the King of Pop for nine years. His mother, Pia, even served as the nanny to Michael’s kids while they were there.

The Jackson family supports the donation of the sunglasses, which Michael wore while on the road for his Dangerous World Tour. It’s a big deal because not too many of the artist’s personal belongings have been sold.  The last time a pair of MJ’s glasses were sold (back in 2011), the winning bid landed at $60K.

Everyone can make a bid on the glasses by using the app Snapsale. At the time of this post, the latest bid was $1000.
