Michael J. Fox Joins Parkinson’s Fundraiser Hike up White Butte in Southwest North Dakota

I always was a big fan of Michael J. Fox. He is a class act, with a big heart. If you haven’t seen any of the Back to the Future movies, you NEED to!

But first, check out this super cool article about the actor helping to raise money for Parkinson’s disease research, a disease that he has lived with for years.

Actor Michael J. Fox made an impromptu trip to southwest North Dakota on Sunday to join a man making a three-month journey across the United States to raise money for Parkinson’s disease research.

Sam Fox, who is not related to the actor but is a staff member at the Michael J. Fox Foundation, is bicycling across the country and climbing the highest peak in 49 states with the goal of raising $1 million for Parkinson’s research during his “Tour de Fox” adventure that began in early June.

Michael J. Fox, best known for his starring roles in “Back to the Future” trilogy, as well as the long-running TV series “Family Ties” and “Spin City,” has been the world’s most visible face and most outspoken advocate of curing Parkinson’s since he was diagnosed with the disease in 1992.

Together with a just more than a dozen others who had already planned to join Sam Fox on his hike, they climbed White Butte in rural Slope County — the tallest point in North Dakota at 3,507 feet above sea level.

Michael J. Fox posted a photo with his teenage daughters from the top of White Butte to Twitter on Sunday afternoon. “Out on the trail in North Dakota with @SamFoxMJFF and Aquinnah and Schuyler,” he wrote.

Sam Fox plans to climb Harney Peak in South Dakota’s Black Hills on Wednesday. The tour is planned to come to a close in Washington and British Columbia the weekend after Labor Day.

That is so awesome! Kudos to you, Michael J. Fox. I really hope that he is doing okay.
