Some of the stars from the hit FOX show Glee performed for the the Family Equality Council Awards dinner held in Los Angeles this past weekend.
According to Look To The Stars, the event honored many in politics, the arts, entertainment industry, and the LGBT movement for their work to see equality for all families. Hosted by Sandra Bernhard at the Beverly Hilton, the dinner featured Lea Michele Darren Criss, Chord Overstreet, Jenna Ushkowitz, Harry Shum, Becca Tobin and Alex Newell performing as an ensemble for the night’s event. Other performances came from Maxine Nightingale and Cheyenne Jackson.
In addition to the performances, attendees heard powerful stories as well as announcements from the council, including the launch of the “Snap It & Send It” app. Gabriel Blau, executive directior, said of the app, “Our life is full of filling out forms. At the doctor’s office, at our children’s schools, at their dance classes. The forms that we’re presented with at every turn still don’t reflect us or many of today’s families. But now there’s an app for that. This app will make it possible to bring hundreds of forms to our attention, and for LGBTQ parents on the front lines across the country to work with our staff and make these changes on the ground.”
Other stars were also in attendance including Lance Bass, Camille Grammer, Dot Marie Jones, Alec Mapa, Ryan Murphy, Lisa Vanderpump, and more. With the mass amount of support, the event raised $618,430!
Sounds like a fabulous event for a very worthy cause!
