Taylor Swift was on the top of DoSomething.org‘s Celebs Gone Good list, being named the most charitable celebrity of 2014 by the organization.
According to the Huffington Post, some of Taylor’s great contributions throughout this year includes her donations to New York Public Schools, Feeding America, UNICEF and Habitat for Humanity. She also donated $100,000 to the American Red Cross to help victims of a 2008 flood in Iowa. Most recently, the singer announced that all proceeds from her single, “Welcome to New York,” a track off of her new album which was #1 on iTunes, would be given to the public school system.
DoSomething.org itself supports various efforts for social change in this country. The winners on the list were chosen by public voting, the Celebs Gone Good Advisory Committee and a celebrity’s given StarMeter ranking on Internet Movie Database.
According to Us Weekly, it’s the third year in a row that Taylor has snagged the top spot. Laverne Cox, Beyonce, Miley Cyrus and Emma Watson made the rest of the top five.
