John Legend and Chrissy Teigen Donate Food To NYC Protesters

Protests over the Eric Garner and Ferguson Grand Jury decisions are still happening all over the country, including New York, where John Legend and his wife, model and food blogger Chrissy Teigen, reportedly gave back to the cause in a big way!

The couple purchased a fleet of food trucks to serve up free food to hungry protesters in New York’s Lincoln Square on Sunday, Dec. 7. NewsOne reported that the food trucks hired included the Kimchi Taco Truck and Milk Truck NYC, which reportedly gave out “over 500 helpings of Mac & Cheese.”

Though they kept quiet about it for a while, Chrissy did confirm to Buzzfeed that she and her husband did, in fact, pay for the food.  She also retweeted the following message to her 500,000 followers yesterday:

Something like this is so thoughtful. Checks for causes are nice, of course, but this took thought, time, and effort to pull together, I’m sure. Glad to see that celebrities are doing so much good in their communities. Simple things like this really do make a difference.
