Shania Twain made some people real happy this week when she surprised elementary students in Toronto! Twain paid stopped an elementary school on Friday to launch a program that helps underprivileged children achieve their potential in school.
The country star was at Winston Churchill P.S. in Brampton, Ont., where she unveiled the GTA’s first Shania Kids Can Clubhouse program. Talk about super coolness for kids!
Shania teamed up with the charity the Dilawri Foundation to donate $400,000 to help 20 at-risk students get extra help at school.
Twain did speak to the students and explained to them that she created the program because she had some tough time in school. Shania came from a very poor family, often went to class hungry and was not very confident in herself.
Twain created the Shania Kids Can foundation to help provide support for less fortunate youth! The first SKC Clubhouse opened at a school in Calgary.
