Oprah: On Breakthrough Moments In Our Lives

O’s August issue includes Oprah’s What I Know For Sure page, which is all about her personal breakthrough after Maya Angelou passed away.

Check out highlights from the interview below. Got to love Oprah! She’s an inspiring woman!

Oprah on the breakthroughs in her life:
“I love the very idea of breakthrough moments, breakthrough times in our lives. I would have to say that the biggest breakthroughs for me have always happened when I was going through a difficult time and suddenly came across an ‘aha’ moment or an opening. So what I’ve learned from all of the breakthroughs in my life experience is that not one single thing you ever have to go through, or get through, is wasted. All experiences are greater possibilities for a moment of awakening and enlightenment.”

At the August cover shoot with Oprah and Gayle King:
“What we’re going for is hopeful, excited, and triumphant,” said Gayle King instructed at this month’s cover shoot. The cover model, however, was anything but. “I was excited for the first ten shots,” Oprah said wearily. “But these” – she looked down at her nearly five inch heels- “are like wearing stilts!”

O, The Oprah Magazine’s August issue hits newsstands on July 15th.

  1. I know some people do not like Oprah, but I think she is incredibly smart and I always listen to her advice. I really miss her weekly show too. Aha moments lead to amazing things, for all of us!

  2. Having the things in life that test us and are supposed to make us stronger – we need those break through moments. f

  3. LOL at the heels. We can all somewhat relate to the shoe thing. 😉 I like Oprah, I’m glad she’s sharing how her aha moments help her.
