Rihanna was recently at a Los Angeles Clippers game sitting courtside when she said “yes” to a selfie pose with Steve Soboroff, the president of the Los Angeles Police Commission, after he noticed that they were both wearing blue LAPD wristbands.
But the selfie didn’t exactly turn out as planned. When Ri tried to take the selfie, she dropped his phone on the ground, which resulted in a cracked screen.
It obviously was just an accident but Rihanna felt horrible and offered an apology via Twitter AND donated $25,000 to the L.A. Police Foundation, an organization that supports police officers.
In addition, at Soboroff’s request, she also autographed the damaged phone, writing “I (heart) LAPD” along with her signature. The phone is currently being auctioned on eBay to benefit two other LAPD-related charities with the highest bid for Soboroff’s phone currently going for $10,100.
