Big Brothers Big Sisters Of Greater Los Angeles 2012 Rising Stars Gala - Arrivals

Lea Michele and Darren Criss want you to step up and help mentor one of the 600,000 at-risk kids in Los Angeles. The two Glee stars along with other famous celebrities filmed a PSA for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Los Angeles.

According to the PSA, the organization is looking to pair mentors with the at-risk children, now called “Bigs,” with “Littles”. There are so many kids who don’t have positive adult role models in their lives and so these mentors are great in helping kids avoid drugs, develop higher self-esteem, and graduate high school.

According to Big Brothers Big Sisters, mentors get together with their “Littles” twice a month. And apparently these meetings have helped children with having better attendance at school, lower dropout rates and less involvement with drugs and violent.

In this particular area, there are still 135 kids waiting to be paired with the perfect “Bigs”. If you think you have what it takes to offer a “Little” your awesomeness, feel free to apply HERE. If you are not in the Los Angeles area, you can do a search to find the nearest Big Brother Big Sister program to you.
