The 9th Annual Watson Celebrity Charity Basketball Game hosted by Floyd Mayweather took place December 15th, 2013 at The Matadome Gym at Cal State Northridge. The vision behind the famed boxing family was to initially bring friends and family together in an effort to make a difference within their community. This year they partnered with the LifeDriven Foundation, an organization that works to connect children battling Cancer with life changing experiences (http://www.lifedriven.org). “I am always happy to be a part of this wonderful game that helps give back to the kids”, states Floyd Mayweather while he is was on the red carpet. Brandon Watson, one of the games organizers chimed in, “This years game we worked hard to take it to another level so that we can have a larger impact on helping the community. With all the support we received, we were able to help raise thousands of dollars to not only help inner city kids but also children affected by cancer that are supported by the Lifedriven Foundation. We are going to continue to work hard to make this game bigger and better so we can continue to help those in need.”

The Watsons spared no expense with getting their celebrity friends to participate for a good cause bringing out some of the biggest names in Sports & Entertainment. Team Yellow included; Brandon Watson, Floyd Mayweather, The Game, Deray Davis, Pooch Hall, Tyga, Tank, Mario, Marques Houston & Shane Mosley coached by Cedric The Entertainer. Next year will be our 10th year anniversary and we look forward to taking The Watson Celebrity Classic to the next level.” After seeing last nights turnout, Mayweather assured media that they’ll be taking it to “The Forum” next year to accommodate the growing success of this event.
