Starkey Hearing Foundation which uses hearing as a vehicle to reflect caring and help people reach their full potential – is pleased to announce its honorees and performers for the 2013 So the World May Hear Annual Awards Gala scheduled for Sunday, July 28, 2013, at the Saint Paul RiverCentre in St. Paul, Minnesota.
This year’s roster of So the World May Hear Gala entertainers includes Lionel Richie, Marc Anthony, Matisyahu, Sinbad, Jessica Sanchez, and ARIA, and the Foundation has additional surprises in store.
Starkey Hearing Foundation will be honoring remarkable humanitarians for their commitment to helping people in need around the world, including:
Sir Richard Branson – Founder, Virgin Group
Ashton Kutcher – Co-founder, Thorn: Digital Defenders of Children
Barbara Bush – Co-founder and CEO, Global Health Corps
Jimmy Walker – Founder and CEO, Celebrity Fight Night
Dennis and Leslie Hansen – Hearing Angel Humanitarians
Angel Chun Li Zhao – Partners in Excellence
President Bill Clinton will also attend for the fourth year in a row. Other well-known guests expected to be in attendance include: NFL stars Adrian Peterson, Greg Jennings and Jared Allen; boxing greats Evander Holyfield and Lennox Lewis; Olympic champion Kristi Yamaguchi; skateboarding legend Tony Hawk; actors Forest Whitaker, Shannon Elizabeth, Keith David and Verne Troyer; and many others.

The So the World May Hear Awards Gala is Starkey Hearing Foundation’s largest annual fundraiser. At the record-setting 2012 Gala, more than $7.6 million was raised to support the Foundation’s missions and programs around the world. The Foundation fits more than 100,000 hearing aids annually to children and adults in need, and as a member of President Clinton’s Global Initiative, it has committed to providing more than 1 million hearing aids this decade. Many high profile supporters attend the Foundation’s Gala each year and also volunteer on their missions throughout the year. In the last year alone, well-known figures like President Bill Clinton, President George W. Bush, Sir Richard Branson, Sir Elton John, Garth Brooks, Larry Fitzgerald, Yao Ming and many others have joined the Foundation’s missions and helped provide the gift of hearing.
