Rihanna may have upset a lot of people earlier this year when she showed up VERY late to Barrington High School in Chicago. She was supposed to be there to stop by the school to congratulate the students on winning her “Shine Bright Like a Diamond” video contest. The Chicago school’s video highlighted the school’s volunteer and community service programs.
After the students waited for FOUR hours for the singer to show up, Ri finally showed up. Even though while they waited they received free tickets, CD’s and signed merchandise, Rihanna felt horrible and just recently donated $5,000 to cover the costs of her brief but tardy visit.
According to The Daily Herald, the Barrington Unit District 220 will use the money for security and signs for the musician’s March trip to Barrington High School and the rest of the cash will be allocated for students.
