On July 1st, Jude Law, along with stars Helen Mirren, Matt Smith, Ben Whishaw, Niamh Cusack and Andrew Scott, appeared in a very special production of A Curious Night to raise money for autism. The show was put together by actor Luke Treadaway.
Treadaway, who is a neighbor of Law’s, told the Evening Standard, “Everyone has been so lovely to come and do this, I couldn’t have asked for a better reaction. Jude and I hadn’t practiced before Sunday but we rehearsed for two hours in his garden.”
Of the show Law said, “I’m just here to enjoy the show. I’m doing it because Luke asked me to.”
Helen Mirren was Elizabeth II in a video clip and Simon Amstell did his thing by performing a comedy set. Coldplay frontman Chris Martin closed the show with a performance of ‘Viva La Vida’ and ‘Paradise’.
The event raised over $200,000 in total, with one donation worth $12,000 for tea with Matt Smith at The Ritz.
Sounds like it was a great night! Kudos to them for taking time out of their lives to help make a difference!
