The Kings of Leon are ready to rock and rock with a purpose. It has been confirmed that the guys will be headlining the ‘Rock for Oklahoma’ benefit concert set to take place on July 23rd at the Chesapeake Energy Arena in Oklahoma City.
And ALL money raised will benefit relief efforts.
Other acts that have also been confirmed for ‘Rock for Oklahoma’ include: Jackson Browne, The Flaming Lips and Built to Spill. More acts will be confirmed soon.
The Flaming Lips frontman Wayne Coyne is hoping that his event will help the residents of Oklahoma City get back on their feet. Coyne said, “Shakespeare said ‘It is not enough to help the needy up, but to support them after’, and in our small way we are trying to not just be here at the moment of immediate need, but to stay and help with the rebuilding. After all, this is our home and they are us and we are them.”
Tickets for ‘Rock for Oklahoma’ are currently on sale.
