Angelina Jolie Opens School For Girls In Afghanistan


Angelina Jolie doesn’t just talk the talk. She walks the walk and then some! Jolie is a well-known worldwide philanthropist and her most recent humanitarian effort includes opening up a school for girls in Afghanistan.

In addition, Jolie has started a jewelry line called Style by Jolie…but get this, profits from the sales of any of her pieces will go to fund her school.

Jolie told E! News that the school already has several hundred students enrolled and it is in an area just outside of Kabul in an area that is well known for resistance to education for girls. AND, the unnamed village has a high population of refugees.

E! is also reporting that Jolie intends to build more schools around the world and will help fund by them releasing new pieces from her Style by Jolie collection. Angelina teamed up with jewelry designer Robert Procop to create the pieces and we can now check them out at Procop’s official website.

All of the profits are to go toward Jolie’s new foundation, The Education Partnership for Children of Conflict.

“Beyond enjoying the artistic satisfaction of designing these jewels, we are inspired by knowing our work is also serving the mutual goal of providing for children in need,” Jolie told E! News.
