For a good cause…CureMito!
At today’s Kaiser Permanente Rock ‘n’ Roll Pasadena Half Marathon benefitting CureMito, Joey McIntyre hit the pavement for the 13.1 mile course while hip hop sensation Far East Movement gave the thousands of participants a reason to finish the race… their 30 minute performance! The day was filled with other musical surprises, including regional bands along the course to keep the thousands of participants rockin’ from start to finish!
On the heels of the New Kids On The Block reunion tour announcement, fit dad of three, Joey McIntyre, proved he had “the right stuff” to finish the 13.1 miles in just 1 hour, 47 minutes and 29 seconds- that even included the many pictures with fans! He’s currently training for the Boston Marathon in April.
Far East Movement kept the party going after the race with a finish line concert in front of the iconic Rose Bowl. The group performed all of their hits including “Dirty Bass”, “Like A G6”, “Turn Up The Love” and more!
Other celebrity participants included Chandra Wilson, Sandra Oh and Justin Chambers from Grey’s Anatomy, as well as Sean Astin (Lord of the Rings) and Andrea Barber (Full House).
The race benefits LA-based CureMito! which provides funding the clinical and laboratory research of mitochondrial disease.
It looks like they had great weather and a great turnout for an amazing cause!
