One Direction members have joined forces to support Louis Tomlinson’s girlfriend’s grandfather. Sound complicated? Needless to say, the guys have raised nearly $2,000 for an Alzheimer’s charity called the Alzheimer’s Society, which focuses on providing care and research for those suffering from various forms of dementia.

TOmlinson’s girlfriend Eleanor Calder discovered that her grandfather was diagnosed with dementia and so, they teamed up to show their support by selling a signed t-shirt on ebay.

Calder said, “I’m so pleased the boys have decided to support Alzheimer’s Society in this way. My grandfather has dementia and my family and I have had first hand experience of how the condition affects every aspect of a person’s life.”

Chief executive of the Alzheimer’s Society Jenny Hughes was thrilled to learn of the group’s donation. She stated, “The boys’ support will help us reach new audiences and raise awareness of dementia amongst younger people. Everyone has a role to play in improving the lives of people with dementia.”

The T-shirt sold for $1,952 on Thursday.
