LeBron James was very disturbed when he heard of the school shooting in Newton, Connecticut and the 27 lives that included small innocent children that were lost.

In a series of tweets, James revealed that he has two kids of his own in elementary school and the mass murder affected him greatly.

Saturday night, James returned to the court to play basketball with his team Miami Heat but it was before the game that happened during a moment of silence for the victims in Newtown. James and fellow baller Dwyane Wade had their children by their side.

In a statement revealed to the Associated Press, James said, “Basketball, this is nothing. These games are nothing compared to when you have a tragedy like that. It sucks that sometimes you need a tragedy to put things back in perspective, to appreciate what you have. But it does that to people. It’s unfortunate that you have to have something like that to understand what’s really important and some things that aren’t important at all. Family is the No. 1 important thing in life.”

Miami Heat’s LeBron James remembered the victims of the mass shooting in Newtown with the name of the small community on his sneakers.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to the families and friends of those who left us too soon.
